Geoportal4everybody became flag ship for Czech Contribution to UNSDI

Karel Charvat 2010-12-28

Due the fact, that we would like to contribute to building SDI globally we decide to connect two our initiatives Geoportal4everybody and activity of Czech Coordination Office for UNSDI. We decide to merge both existing portal www.unsdi.cz and http://www.geoportal4everybody.eu.

New common portal, which will be accessible from both domains will be focused on support of voluntary initiatives, training but also data and service sharing. As was already mentioned in article Social Space for Geospatial Information, we would like support students, scientist, companies and all interested people in all countries including developing with utilisation of SDI. Our idea is to support building of UNSDI from bottom. In next Month we will increase functionality of existing portal and there will be chance for any interested parties to test new tools.
